Dr. Emery Engers earned her Bachelors degree in Chemistry at Kalamazoo College in 2003 and her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Michigan State University in 2007. Since graduation, she has worked continuously at high-quality companion animal practices in northern Oakland County, before joining Ann Arbor Animal Hospital in early 2015.
Dr. Engers’ experience has fueled her passion for preventive care, focusing on partnering with clients to ensure happy and healthy lives for their pets. In addition to vaccines, parasite prevention, and diagnostic testing, she looks forward to discussing nutrition, dental care, and behavioral concerns as part of each wellness visit. She also has special interests in dentistry and surgery, having completed advanced training in dental radiography as well as oral, soft tissue, and orthopedic surgeries.
As a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association and the Michigan Veterinary Medical Association, Dr. Engers stays active in her profession and regularly pursues continuing education opportunities.
A lifelong Michigan resident, Dr. Engers was raised on an Arabian horse farm outside Ann Arbor, and as a youth she enthusiastically pursued her interests in showing horses and playing competitive softball. Today, she resides in Troy with her two miniature Dachshunds, where she can often be found in the middle of a household “DIY” project. She also enjoys traveling, hiking, camping, and swimming.
