We will be closed for Primary Care on Sunday, April 21st, in observance of the holiday. Our ER will remain open 24/7, as always.
Also, we want to remind everyone that Easter lilies are extremely toxic to cats! Critical Care Veterinarian Kerry McKinney writes:
Mother’s Day & Easter are dangerous holidays for cats due to lilies often being included in flower arrangements. Ingesting any part of the plant or even a dusting of pollen or vase water can cause acute kidney injury and can lead to death if untreated.
Look at an earlier blog about lily toxicity for a more in-depth discussion.
If you know or suspect your cat has eaten any part of a lily, contact the Pet Poison Helpline at 855-764-7661. A $59 incident fee applies.
