Mark your calendars for June 15th!
The Ann Arbor Animal Hospital is proud to sponsor the third annual GrieveWell Kite Festival. This wonderful family-friendly event is free to attend and open to all.
What is the Kite Festival?
It’s a day to “celebrate life, honor the memory of loved ones who have passed, and be a part of the movement to build a community of hope and healing.” Everyone in the community is encouraged to attend, whether they’ve personally experienced loss, are supporting someone in grief, or are simply looking for a fun outdoor event.
There will be professional kite demonstrations, kite decorating and flying, a kite coloring contest, a kids zone with crafts and games, and more.
What is GrieveWell?
GrieveWell is a nonprofit organization based here in Ann Arbor whose goal is to support individuals in grief. Whether caused by the loss of children, parents, siblings, close friends, pets, or other loved ones, grief can have a profound effect on people, and everyone grieves in different ways. GrieveWell focuses on one-to-one support for those dealing with grief, while striving to build a more compassionate community. For more information, visit their About page.
Given the comparatively short lifespan of our animal companions, and the realities of operating a veterinary practice, we regularly deal with the death of pets, both ours and those of our clients. Grief is a subject that is very important to us, and we try to provide resources to help everyone through their grief.
