Glaucoma can develop in any breed of dog or cat. A number of breeds of cats and dogs are especially likely to develop this disease and, together with those having a history of certain medical conditions, are candidates for regular glaucoma screening. It could save your pet's vision!
This is our second article featuring a pet with a disability, and like Lacie (the dog featured in the first story), Yogert needed to have both her eyes removed due to a painful condition called Glaucoma. Remember, a life-altering diagnosis doesn't mean your pet can't live a happy and fulfilling life!
Due to cataracts and glaucoma, Lacie was nearly blind and in a lot of pain. Thanks to a surgical procedure and a special apparatus, her quality of life has greatly improved.
