This past February we met a Good Samaritan who brought an adult, male cat to the hospital. He was a beautiful brown tabby, found as a stray, who obviously had been someone’s pet at one point in his life. Thanks to a microchip, his story had a happy ending.
Throughout the year, people often drop by the Animal Hospital with stray animals. However, while we are empathetic about the plight of strays, the Animal Hospital is just not set up to be a shelter. Because the Ann Arbor Animal Hospital is a 24-hour facility, many well-meaning Good Samaritans bring stray animals to the clinic with the hope of handing them off to a safe place until they can be reunited with their families...we have to follow a strict protocol when it comes to unknown animals.
We often get questions about medications, their sources and cost...It is understandable that people are trying to save money and internet pharmacies are an option. However, the health of your pet is more important to us than anything else...we feel obligated to share concerns that have surfaced with internet pharmacies.
