We had an amazing Tech Week!
First celebrated in 1993, National Veterinary Technician Week takes place in the third week of October each year. This year it was October 16-22.
Our Licensed Veterinary Technicians (LVTs) have gone above and beyond to offer the care and knowledge for the health and comfort of your companions. Anywhere from drawing blood samples, performing anesthesia, administering vaccines, positioning radiographs, CPR, etc.—your LVT has your pet’s wellbeing as their top priority!
Vet Tech Week is a chance to really highlight our staff and show them how much we appreciate them. We (AAAH) provided plentiful snacks all week, an engraved tumbler for each employee, plus a coffee bar and new ice maker for the staff’s break room. Our vendors and suppliers are extremely generous and showed their support by providing, among other things, lots of food. Wow, did they spoil us! Every day they brought a new feast for our entire staff. Plus, there was coffee. Lots of coffee. Here’s the rundown:
- Michelle from Ceva Animal Health kicked us off early on October 11 with doughnuts and breakfast from Panera
- Sunday: Breakfast from Panera provided by Amy from Merck
- Monday: Lunch from Qdoba provided by Mikayla from Covetrus, Mike from Cubex; Trunk or Treat with Krista from Vetoquinol
- Tuesday: Breakfast from Panera provided by Mike from Idexx; Lunch from Firehouse Subs provided by Julianne from Elanco
- Wednesday: Breakfast from Dimo’s Deli & Donuts provided by Tracey from Mitramax; Lunch from New York Pizza Depot provided by Dwayne from Midwest
- Thursday: Breakfast from Panera provided by Angela from Penn Vet, Yvonne from Dechra
- Friday: Breakfast from Bob Evans provided by Brittany from Zoetis; Lunch from Olive Garden provided by Eddie from Virbac; Dinner for our ER provided by Ann Arbor Animal Hospital
- Saturday: Breakfast provided by our own Dr. Critchfield; Midwest Vet provided pizza for our our ER
Midwest provided stethoscope timers, & MWI gave a generous donation for snacks for the week.
THANK YOU to all of our vendors and suppliers for their amazing generosity!
With the proximity to Halloween, there was also a lot of spooky excitement floating around, as can be seen throughout the photos below!
