This is Opal our Grand Basset Griffon Vendeen (GBGV). She is 8 years old and is full of joy. She is an affectionate and loving hound who has been diagnosed with a heart based tumor. Every day she is with us is a miracle. There is no stopping her love for life, food, howling and  family. GBGVs are a rare breed and Opal is a true original. Long legs, big voice and a gentle soul.

The day after this post was published sweet Opal passed away from hemangiosarcoma. Her owners asked us to update this blog post and we extend sincere condolences over their loss. RIP gentle Opal.
